There is a simple beauty in every day things we sometimes take for granted, but should value more. The name of this painting, "Conch Pearl", alludes to the jewelry-like chain on the fisherman's boat and its reflection. The pink conch shells themselves are the pearls being drawn out of the shimmering water.

Bahamian artist Roshanne Eyma, daughter of artist and singer/songwriter, Eddie Minnis and Grace Minnis, was born on May 4, 1972. Her interest in art began early in life, growing up surrounded by a family of artists. She started painting seriously when she was 14 years old. She graduated from Queen's College, Nassau Bahamas, in 1988. She received awards in several local art competitions. She has also participated in a number of joint exhibitions with her father, Eddie Minnis, and sister, Nicole. A special highlight of her artistic career was the Minnis Family Retrospective Exhibition held at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas in Nassau from July to November of 2014.
