This is the sweetest expression I’ve ever seen on the face of someone performing a laborious task. Washing by hand in a tub outdoors seems long outdated. Yet this hardworking woman is making this chore seem pleasant with her bright colours and warm smile in a little oasis of her own making outside her humble home. The hardest task can be transformed into something beautiful when it is motivated by love.

Roshanne Minnis-Eyma

Bahamian artist Roshanne Eyma, daughter of artist and singer/songwriter, Eddie Minnis and Grace Minnis, was born on May 4, 1972. Her interest in art began early in life, growing up surrounded by a family of artists. She started painting seriously when she was 14 years old. She graduated from Queen's College, Nassau Bahamas, in 1988. She received awards in several local art competitions. She has also participated in a number of joint exhibitions with her father, Eddie Minnis, and sister, Nicole. A special highlight of her artistic career was the Minnis Family Retrospective Exhibition held at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas in Nassau from July to November of 2014.
